How to Make Magic Reindeer Food

Children expect Christmas time all year long. They try their darnedest to be good, and try as they can, sadly they do not succeed all the time. Somebody came up with an idea to persuade reindeer to visit homes of "naughty" kids - magic reindeer food. In case you have never prepared such a food, here is how to make magic reindeer food to attract Santa to your home.

As a matter of fact, it is certainly the other animals in the neighbourhood which will be consuming this sweet treat. However, you do not have to tell it your kids and can let them think Santa stopped by.

Magic reindeer food requires ingredients that you can find at home. So, you're going to ask where does the magic feature come in? Kids only, never adults, have magic words to pronounce over the mixture, just like witches can cast spells, and which will allow the reindeer to easily find the treat. Naturally, your son or daughter might not see any hoof prints: this is because the reindeer will float over the lawn...

Ingredients you need to make magic reindeer food:

  • 1/4 cup dry oats
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Red and green sugar sprinkles as desired

Directions to make magic reindeers:

  • Mix ingredients in a bowl and then pour it into a jar with a lid.
  • Zip top bags are also a good choice.
  • You want to keep your reindeer food fresh until Christmas Eve.

On Christmas Eve, before the kids go to bed, they will recite the magic words to attract reindeer:

Sprinkle on the lawn at night
The moon will make it sparkle bright
As Santa's reindeer fly and roam
Let this guide them to my home!

Make sure your kids placed a glass milk as cookies on the table near the Christmas tree; once it is done, they can go outside of the house to recite these words and sprinkle the magic reindeer food. After that, they must go to bed and dream of Santa's fairy visit.

Your kids might be upset because all of the magic reindeer food isn't gone in the very next morning. Whenever it is the case, just let them know that many other kids might have sprinkled such treat and reindeer may have gotten full before reaching your house. Another explanation would be the one of a generous reindeer which likes to share their food with other animals and made a decision on leaving some for those living in your neighbourdhood.

Making magic reindeer food with the kids is a great Christmas activity because kids love animals and will feel good because they're going to take care of Santa's reindeer.
